Description

Master of Science in Business Information Systems

The Master’s programme in Business Information Systems at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) is an application-oriented programme that provides students with advanced scientific knowledge and practical skills at the intersection of computer science, business administration, and quantitative methods. It prepares graduates for leadership roles, strategic tasks, and research-oriented positions in software-driven industries and IT consulting.

Students choose one of three specialisations:

  • Advanced Analytics (available in both English and German),

  • Information Systems Engineering (German only),

  • Business Engineering (German only).

Each specialisation equips students with deep expertise:

  • Advanced Analytics focuses on statistical analysis, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making. Graduates are qualified for roles such as data scientists or business analysts.

  • Information Systems Engineering prepares students to design, implement, and secure complex information systems.

  • Business Engineering emphasises the optimisation of business processes and change management through IT solutions.

The programme can be studied in German or English, depending on the chosen specialisation. The English-taught variant is available exclusively within the Advanced Analytics specialisation and is fully taught and assessed in English.

Graduates earn the title Master of Science (MSc), which also qualifies them for doctoral studies or higher civil service positions.
