Description

Conserving natural resources is the primary objective for the future. Doing so will sustainably improve and secure our livelihoods and those of our descendants. UAS Bingen was the first university in Germany to establish a course of study in environmental protection in 1974. Since then, the curricula and teaching methods have continuously been adapted to the latest developments.

Interdisciplinary teaching is a priority in the Master’s in Environmental Sustainability programme.

Students from different Bachelor's programmes come together to contribute their expertise to international and interdisciplinary projects. Classes are taught in English, and additional modules in German are available.

Course organisation

Course structure:

The Master’s degree programme is designed for a standard period of study of three semesters and 90 ECTS credits. It concludes with the awarding of the academic degree of Master of Science (MSc).

Each semester begins with a project workshop for all students. First-year students learn methods and choose their project topics, while higher-semester students present their project status. Only the project and Master’s thesis are compulsory. Any remaining modules are entirely the students’ choice. The individual academic advisory service will support you in creating suitable combinations, considering your existing knowledge, interests, and career goals.

Lectures, seminars, and practical internships are held during the first two semesters. The third semester is dedicated to the Master’s thesis. A semester abroad is optional but not compulsory.
