Our academic year is divided into eight blocks of five weeks each. These blocks build on one another with regard to content. Studies begin with a 14-day introductory module. Targeted learning is offered from day one with a university-wide preparatory phase to acquire basic study skills.
The on-site courses of the SRH in North Rhine-Westphalia take place at the SRH Hamm campus or the Münster campus. The duration of study is four semesters, which corresponds to a study period of two years. At SRH, you will study according to the CORE Principle. CORE stands for Competence-Oriented Research and Education. You will study practical tasks in small teams in five-week blocks. Instead of a jungle of subjects, you will concentrate on a maximum of two subjects in parallel within a five-week block. Due to the time structure, concentrated examination phases are a thing of the past. From the abundance of possible examination forms (from written examinations to learning diaries), you can prove yourself in the one that best suits the competences relevant to the subject. The fourth semester is the final practical semester, during which you will write your Master's thesis (in a company). This practical phase serves to establish profitable contacts with interesting companies and potential employers – an important step on the way to a successful career start.

Financing information
Funding opportunities within the institution
The university awards the Germany scholarship (300 EUR per month) for the duration of the standard period of study, i.e. until completion of the degree. For a Master's programme, this means a maximum duration of two years and for a Bachelor's programme, the duration is three years. The university expects scholarship holders to realise their academic potential (achievement of all required ECTS per semester). This is checked by the university every semester.
Possibility of finding part-time employment
Working as a non-EU citizen: In possession of a valid German residence permit for study purposes, you are allowed to work for up to 120 full days (full day = eight hours per day) or 240 half days (half day = four hours) during the calendar year. However, freelance work is not permitted. Internships that are mandatory for the successful completion of your studies at SRH do not count towards the above-named 120 full days.
Employment that is considered “student part-time work” ("studentische Nebentätigkeit", e.g. employment as a student worker at a university or in a university-related organisation or "Werkstudent" activities at companies that are related to your studies) can be done without any time restrictions.
