Students can complete the whole programme in English. All mandatory courses are held in English. Required elective courses and elective modules are offered in English and German. Participants can choose to write the Master's thesis in either language.

The Business Analytics and Operations Research specialisation in our Master's programme in Business Administration offers a career-oriented education in the design, application and integration of digitalisation, data science and optimisation in management and economics in a theory-founded yet applied fashion. Our degree programme provides comprehensive methodological foundations on which further subject-related knowledge in the most important business functions like marketing, logistics or finance is successively built. The Master's programme offers great flexibility in the selection of courses, the semester abroad and the choice of internships. This gives students the opportunity to tailor their studies to their individual needs.

Nowadays, being able to solve numerous business management problems not only requires identifying the cause of the problem and developing a proposal for a solution but also increasingly the implementation in an existing or new business management application system. Therefore, students can select modules from either of the two tracks, "Business Analytics” and “Operations Research”.

Besides the methodological foundation, we offer four subject areas that approach specific business management areas and problems. Students can focus on a single or on several areas of business administration

• Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Operations
• Finance
• Digitalisation and Information Systems
• Marketing

Graduates are well-equipped for careers in data-driven business environments, including roles in analytics, operations research, consulting, and management. The programme also provides a solid foundation for those interested in pursuing academic research or doctoral studies.

Moreover, students will be equipped with the necessary skills to communicate and present the learned content through specific modules with a focus on business language, communication and teamwork.

Students can choose from a rich variety of further elective courses from multiple disciplines in business and economics to round out their education. The Master's thesis component further cements their strong methodological and practical knowledge gained in the programme. The thesis can be written with any of the professors teaching in this programme and/or in cooperation with a company.

Application periods for the winter semester:

• The application deadline for individuals who have obtained their university degree within the European Union is from 1 April to 15 June.
• For those who have obtained their university degree outside the European Union, the application deadline ends earlier, on 15 May.

Application period for the summer semester:

• 1 December to 15 January for all applicants
• Individuals who have obtained their university degree within the European Union submit their application digitally through KU’s own online application portal.
• Those who have obtained their Master's entrance qualification (generally their first Bachelor’s degree relevant to the Master's programme in Business Administration) outside the EU, submit their application only via www.uni-assist.de. Neither registration nor an additional application in the KU portal is required.

The programme includes required modules, required elective courses and elective modules. The six required modules are as follows:

• Data Analytics in Python
• Operations Research
• Predictive Analytics
• Service Analytics
• One module from the list of Business Languages, Communication and Teamwork
• Ethics

These modules are offered during the first two semesters. They lay the foundation for a variety of elective courses and the specialisations, which allow a focus on one or more specific topics.

All required courses are taught in English. In the required elective courses and elective modules, students can choose modules in German or English.

Students have the option of studying abroad for a semester at one of the KU’s approx. 300 partner universities in 60 countries. They can also independently organise study stays abroad.

No tuition fees

78 EUR per semester

The costs of living in Ingolstadt or Eichstätt are relatively low compared to large university cities. Rental costs in subsidised student residences (offered by the Studentenwerk Erlangen, the Canisius-Stiftung or the St Gundekarwerk) range between 300 EUR to 400 EUR per month depending on size and furnishing. Rental costs in privately owned residences are slightly higher and range around 750 EUR per month in Ingolstadt. In Eichstätt, rental costs are generally slightly lower. All KU students can eat in the university’s canteen at favourable prices. The price for a main dish is between 3.50 and 5.50 EUR. Health insurance costs are approx. 140 EUR per month. In total, you should plan for monthly costs of 1,000 EUR, possibly less in Eichstätt.

Open to all students who pass the aptitude procedure
This is based on the Bachelor’s degree grade, specific previous knowledge of the chosen specialisation and relevant professional experience.

• Applicants must have a school leaving certificate with an average grade. To convert the grade of your school into a German grade, we need to see the official grading system of your school. Please prepare to upload a copy of the official grading system of your school.
• If applicable: university entrance examination certificate from your home country
• Applicants who have completed previous periods of study in China, India, Vietnam or Mongolia: APS certificate
• Original or certified true copy of your university leaving certificate (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) as well as original or certified true copy of German, English or French translation of this certificate
• You must submit full transcripts of your Bachelor's studies. Your transcript should show the average grade of your university degree. • Proof of English language proficiency
  (B2 level; e.g. by TOEFL score of 78 or better, Bachelor's or Master's degree in English – confirmation of university required)

The KU offers academically qualified international students in financial need a scholarship (approximately 450 EUR per month). Scholarships are awarded for a period of five months, with the option to reapply each semester.

It is possible to find a job as a student assistant ("Hiwi") by contacting professors and university departments directly. Information on current job vacancies can also be found on the website of each chair.

There are also different offers for temporary part-time jobs outside the university, for example, in restaurants or in shopping malls. Eichstätt and Ingolstadt are the cities with the lowest unemployment rates in Germany.

The International Office at the KU offers a housing service. It helps international students find accommodation, and it facilitates the contact between students and the future landlord or landlady. This service is free of charge. However, a housing service deposit is charged, and this will be refunded at the end of your rental contract. Please find more information on housing at the KU here.
