Our voices

What I love about the SBT programme is the fact that it gives you an understanding of both engineering and business. It is ideal for those who cannot decide what field to specialise in.
There is also a German language module, so you can come with zero German language proficiency and graduate speaking German. I appreciate the fact that the study group is relatively small, which makes it easy to establish a more personal relationship with professors. There is also a familiar atmosphere on campus.

Description

This interdisciplinary Bachelor's programme at Germany's most sustainability-oriented university incorporates all of the aspects necessary to meet the demands of students seeking a global perspective at the edge between business and technology.

Over the course of six semesters, students will study innovative learning concepts in the fields of business and engineering. Our focus on sustainability and green technologies as well as our globally interrelated perspective provides future graduates with excellent key qualifications and enables them to master the challenges of our time.

Real-life business projects as well as training in organisation, methods, and communication skills complete our students' academic and personal profiles.

As an added benefit, German language and intercultural communication modules may even pave the way for a possible professional life in Germany or a position at a German enterprise abroad.

Academic admission requirements

German entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or equivalent

You can find out whether your higher education entrance qualification (UEQ) from your home country qualifies you to study directly in Germany or whether you will first have to attend a preparatory course ("Studienkolleg") by finding further information on the information portal on the recognition of foreign educational qualifications (ANABIN).

Additionally, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) operates a website where you can check whether your school leaving certificate qualifies you to study in Germany.

If you have a foreign university entrance qualification, it must be evaluated by our university as part of the application process.
Please note that we do not cooperate with uni-assist and this examination is carried out exclusively by our university.

Please see here for a step-by-step guide for your application.

About us

Trier University of Applied Sciences

Our campus is one of the three sites of the Trier University of Applied Sciences, which is more than 30 years old and cooperates with more than 140 partner institutions worldwide. Founded in 1996, the Birkenfeld Environment Campus is still very young. Nonetheless, it is well equipped. We follow a residential campus concept with academic departments, libraries, and residences as well as social and sports facilities in one place. We not only develop sustainable technologies – we also use them. Energy and heat are supplied by a neighbouring combined biomass heat and power station, which uses waste wood and biogas. All roofs are equipped with solar panels; the lighting and geothermal climate systems are highly energy efficient. The Environmental Campus is located near the town of Birkenfeld on the Nahe river, close to the major European centres of Frankfurt, Luxembourg, and Trier. The campus has its own railway station and is close to the Kaiserslautern-Trier motorway. It has a direct rail connection to Frankfurt Airport (less than two hours), and Ryanair's Frankfurt-Hahn hub is only 40 minutes away.

Location

Study in the heart of Europe – in the dynamic triangle between Germany, France and the Low Countries.

Experience Europe's oldest cultural landscapes and cities while living on campus next to Germany's youngest National Park.

Benefit from the direct rail link to the major transportation hubs of Frankfurt and Paris.
