Description

GENERAL INFORMATION

The bilingual International Civil Engineering (ICE) programme is an accredited Bachelor's degree programme. The academic degree of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil Engineering is typically awarded after seven semesters.

OBJECTIVES

We provide broad knowledge in the areas of civil engineering, construction operations and construction management. Furthermore, we enable graduates to communicate effectively in several languages.

PERSPECTIVES

Graduates of the International Civil Engineering Bachelor’s degree programme have a broad spectrum of career options. These include professions in the construction industry or in the public sector. Due to their distinctive language and intercultural competencies, graduates of this programme can successfully work anywhere in the world.

COURSE CONTENT

In the first and second semesters, you will learn the mathematical and technical foundations of civil engineering.

In the third and fourth semesters, you will be dealing with the core topics of civil engineering. These consist of construction, structural engineering, planning, and the environment.

After having successfully passed all first and second year modules you will begin your one-year stay at a partner university abroad.

STUDY ABROAD

The fifth and sixth semesters feature one academic year abroad at one of our partner universities around the world.

The courses taken abroad depend on the curriculum of the partner university, but they will generally fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • substructure engineering
  • structural engineering
  • infrastructure engineering
  • sustainability
  • project management
  • construction management

The credit points earned at our partner universities will be automatically transferred and counted towards your Bachelor's degree.

During your year of study abroad, you will also be doing project work and will write your Bachelor's thesis.
