Languages

The modules of the degree programme are offered in English and German. When you apply for the BSc Industrial Engineering Life Sciences in the application portal, your language skills will be checked, which will determine whether you study only in German (with a C1 certificate or German university entrance qualification), only in English (with a B2 certificate), or will have a free choice to study in either language (both language certificates required).

Description

The complexity of the food industry necessitates training experts with interdisciplinary skills, including solid business expertise in product development, marketing, and innovation, along with proficiency in food technology or industrial biotechnology (e.g. food development, production, preservation). To stay competitive, companies require innovative products that can be scaled up industrially and marketed effectively. The Industrial Engineering Life Sciences study programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences bridges life sciences and business, preparing graduates for junior management roles in the life sciences sector by providing vital interdisciplinary expertise.

The study programme is international in design. The courses are conducted in English as well as in German. English language proficiency at B2 level or German skills at C1 level are required. In addition, various foreign language courses can be taken.

Due to the interdisciplinary interface skills acquired through the course, future job opportunities for graduates of the Industrial Engineering Life Sciences degree programme can be found not only in production, but above all in corporate development and innovation management, often in close proximity to executive leadership. You will choose a specialisation in either Food Technology or Industrial Biotechnology.
