Annotation

The aim of the Master’s degree programme in Prehistory and Early History is to provide qualified and specialised knowledge of the archaeology of Central Europe and to analyse cultural and historical contexts and development processes from the Stone Age to the late Middle Ages. The focus of the degree course is on the in-depth examination of the prehistoric and early history issues that are relevant today.

Admission requirements

Completed university degree or equivalent first professionally qualifying degree (standard period of study at least 6 semesters/180 CP) with an average grade of at least 3.00 (satisfactory) after at least 150 CP in the subject Prehistory and Early History or an archaeology/cultural history subject or another subject in the humanities, cultural studies or social sciences and knowledge in the field of archaeology/cultural history amounting to at least 30 CP, which ensures that applicants have basic knowledge comparable to the content and skills level of the minor in Prehistory and Early History at the University of Regensburg regarding the issues and methods of both prehistory and early history in Central Europe
