Description
The European Master's in Business Studies is a Master's degree in Management officially integrated in the new European Bologna system of higher education. It is composed of four semesters in four different European countries representing a total of 120 ECTS. The European Master's in Business Studies is a post-graduate course which has been developed in order to offer European as well as non-European students a unique opportunity to learn how to do efficient business in Europe. Apart from studying fundamentals of management and sales & marketing on a European scale, students will learn "on site" about the multicultural differences by studying in the four countries of the consortium and by working in groups of different nationalities. The courses are taught in English. Qualified faculty and managers from European companies are involved in the teaching of courses, seminars, and workshops. Students will also be given the opportunity of learning the language of the country where they spend their semester abroad.

Integrated internships
Within the Master's programme, a three-month internship is obligatory. It has to be completed in a company/institution relevant to the EMBS programme. In problematic cases, the university will assist students in finding an appropriate internship.

Semester contribution
Mandatory registration fees allow students to use public transport free of charge and to eat at the university's refectories and cafeterias at reduced prices. The registration fee for the summer semester 2025 was approx. 356 EUR.

Requirements
Academic admission requirements
Applicants can only be admitted to the EMBS if they have passed a Bachelor's degree or equivalent (at least amounting to six semesters and 180 ECTS) with at least an overall grade of 2.5 in Germany, 95 in Italy, 13 in France, 6.5 in Spain, or the equivalent in other countries.
Language requirements
Students should have very good English language skills, proven by a level B2 of CEFR, 560 paper-based, 225 computer-based, 87 Internet-based TOEFL, IELTS 6.5, or equivalent test results.

Accommodation
International students enrolled at the University of Kassel can choose between staying at a student residence hall ("Wohnheim") or private accommodation. There are about 1,000 rooms available in the student residencies around the campus. Please have a look at https://www.studierendenwerk-kassel.de/en/wohnen/. Rent for a room varies between 200 and 350 EUR per month depending on the location and facilities. Students can choose single apartments with en-suite facilities or a shared flat with fellow students. Private furnished or unfurnished accommodation in Kassel is also available and can be found in the local paper, on flyers on campus, or on the Internet (e.g. social media).
