Costs & requirements

Costs

Tuition fees per semester

No tuition fees

Semester contribution

The semester fee of 198 EUR (as of summer semester 2025) must be paid by all students each semester. The semester fee includes the RVV semester ticket and the contribution to the student union. For the first semester, the fee is due upon enrolment.

Costs of living

You will need to budget at least 800 to 900 EUR per month for daily living expenses during your stay in Regensburg.

If you come from a non-EU country, you will need to provide proof of a certain amount per month. However, you may need more to pay for your room, food and everyday necessities. As the number of subsidised rooms in student residences is very limited, you may have to pay up to 700 EUR for rent alone.

On the DAAD website, you will find detailed information about education and living costs in Germany.

Requirements

Academic admission requirements

a) Applicants should hold a first degree in a relevant programme in international business studies or hold an equivalent German or international degree in which they will generally have been awarded 210 ECTS credits but not less than 180 credits.

b) Proof of the special qualification by an overall examination grade of "good" (2,5) or better in the degree under a). Alternatively, the requirement is also fulfilled by proof that the final grade submitted in the first degree programme falls into the group of the best 60% in the percentage ranking of overall examination grades in the degree programme at the respective university. If your first degree was obtained outside of Germany, please include the uni-assist evaluation report VPD | uni-assist.

c) Programme-specific aptitude: Applicants meeting the formal admission criteria will be invited via e-mail to an aptitude test after the application deadline. This oral test, scheduled and formatted by the selection committee, is conducted virtually via video conferencing software. The test assesses applicants' foundational knowledge in three key areas essential for the programme: International Business Management and Intercultural Competence, Economics and Marketing. Applicants who have completed their first degree programme “with distinction” (1.0-1.2 in the German grading system) or who can show they are among the top 10 per cent of graduates from that programme are exempt from the aptitude test.

Language requirements

Applicants will either have completed a first degree programme that was held mainly in English, or they will have acquired adequate international experience (studies abroad in English or an international internship in English). Alternatively, applicants will provide proof of English proficiency at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Acceptability will be decided by the Master's Commission.

Additional support

Accommodation

Regensburg is a lively university city with over 30,000 students. As a result, the housing market is very tight. The search for a room is the students' own responsibility! It is recommended to start the search as early as possible, as many rooms are already assigned early!

On the OTH website, you will find useful information about accommodation.
