Course organisation

Curriculum structure

The curriculum is structured into three interconnected thematic blocks that build on each other throughout the course of study. The individual modules and seminars are closely linked, fostering a holistic and interdisciplinary understanding of automotive service systems and processes.

The curriculum combines theoretical foundations with applied, practice-oriented learning and follows a networked approach, enabling students to analyse complex service and after-sales challenges from technical, managerial and strategic perspectives.

Programme start and intercultural focus

The programme begins with a team-building event for international students, designed to strengthen social and intercultural competencies. During this introduction phase, students present key aspects of their cultural backgrounds, promoting mutual understanding and effective collaboration in an international learning environment.

In addition, a mandatory intercultural training module, which must be completed in the first semester, supports students in developing intercultural communication skills essential for working in global organisations.

Language preparation

At the time of application German language skills should be at A2 level. During the academic programme, students are offered a free German language course aiming at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Achieving this level is a prerequisite for finishing the Master’s programme and supports students in their academic, professional and everyday life in Germany.

Mandatory internship and practical training

In the third semester, the curriculum includes a mandatory internship with established and trusted industry partners. This internship provides intensive practical experience and strengthens the programme’s strong application-oriented focus. Students apply the knowledge and methods acquired during their studies to real-world challenges and gain valuable insights into professional practice. The internship also serves as an important preparation phase prior to the Master’s thesis.
