Description
The binational programme trains teachers for primary schools in France and Germany. Special emphasis lies on several periods of practical training in both countries, which thus familiarises the students with the different educational systems.
The fields of study usually include two majors (German and French), one minor (maths), educational sciences, and school practice. Students can also select the profile "Europalehramt" that offers the possibility to teach a subject (e.g., history, geography, art, music) in bilingual classes.
An intercultural dimension is at the heart of the programme. French- and German-speaking students complete their studies side by side and are able to assist each other as they work in tandem.
A Master's programme in teacher education will be organised by PH Freiburg, INSPE Strasbourg/Colmar, and the Seminare für Ausbildung und Fortbildung der Lehrkräfte (Grundschule) Lörrach or Offenburg.
