Description
Students who are seeking a first academic degree in the field of business studies are welcome to apply.
This programme is taught in German (70%) and English (30%) modules can be taken. It provides preparation for career opportunities in the diverse field of management, such as managerial communication, organisational behaviour, international management, human resource management, etc.
Students will be introduced to the basics of managerial and economic theories as well as business decision-making. To complete the curriculum, students will receive English language training at an academic level (Uni-cert III (C1)) starting in their first two semesters.
This Bachelor's programme prepares graduates for managerial and entrepreneurial occupations at foreign or multinational companies, consultancy firms, national and multinational institutions, and non-profit organisations. Additionally, graduates will be equipped to continue their academic careers in a management Master's programme.

The IM programme is an in-class study programme and requires presence on campus from the beginning. Enrolment has to be done electronically.
The study programme will start at the beginning of October with an onboarding week exclusively for new students. During this week, students will learn how to organise their class schedules by following the programme structure and e-learning portals. They will also receive important information about the study and exam regulations as well as discover options for networking activities, etc.

Course organisation
The International Management programme consists of a series of mandatory courses that encompass managerial and economics topics, with a focus on international topics. Additionally, students will develop their academic English skills to be prepared for studying exclusively in English in the future.
The programme comprises compulsory modules and compulsory elective modules. Students study compulsory modules in the first four semesters of the programme. The modules that are offered include:

Students will specialise during the fifth and sixth semesters by choosing compulsory elective courses, which include an academic seminar.
Furthermore, students are free to choose from more than 50 partner institutions for a study abroad experience in the fifth semester. It is possible to have credits earned during the study abroad period recognised in the IM programme, and a counselling service will be available to assist students in this process.
A written Bachelor's thesis and a corresponding seminar that includes a presentation will round off the undergraduate study programme in the sixth semester.

The school is part of the EU GREEN alliance, a network of European universities developing modules and collaboration with regard to sustainability. The school offers modules in collaboration with partner universities and guest lectures.
Integrated/optional study abroad unit(s) outside Germany
A semester abroad is recommended for the fifth semester, but it is not mandatory, and it is not officially included in the study programme. However, the university provides advice and more than 50 worldwide co-operations. Visa matters can not be influenced by the school and must be self-organised.
Integrated internships
There are no compulsory internship requirements. However, students are encouraged to complete a voluntary internship during their studies. The faculty believes it is valuable to gain professional experience within German and international workplaces. Internships must be organised independently. Furthermore, AIESEC, Enactus, and additional student organisations as well as the University Career Service can provide opportunities and support.

Currently, the semester fee is 278.90 EUR. It covers services offered by the "Studentenwerk" (student union) and the student representatives. Enrolled students receive the "Deutschlandsemesterticket" for free use of public transport throughout Germany, along with student discounts in the campus cafeteria and more.
Costs of living
A minimum of 992 EUR per month must be budgeted for accommodation, cost of living, health insurance, books, and miscellaneous expenses. In comparison with many other towns and cities, the rental prices in Magdeburg are still relatively low. There are no tuition fees for the majority of programmes, and the semester fee already includes the cost of bus and tram travel within Magdeburg. Academic admission requirements
Applicants must submit a university entrance qualification that is recognised in Germany. Additionally, fluent German language skills (speaking, listening, and writing) must be demonstrated through a recognised valid test at the required level.
Language requirements
Proof of sufficient German language skills in the form of DSH level 2, TestDaF level 4, ZOP, or equivalent is required. English knowledge at a B2 level is recommended, to ensure that students are prepared for the Unicert III English module and able to follow the English modules.

It is possible to find a part-time job as a research or student assistant at one of the faculties or in the university administration (maximum: 80 hours per month). The "Studentenwerk" (student union) in Magdeburg manages the on-campus halls of residence (mostly one- to four-room apartments). Currently, the monthly rent ranges from 174 EUR to 421 EUR per room (approx. 12 to 35 square meters), depending on the size and furnishing. Rooms in the halls of residence are limited in number. The accommodation application can be found on the website of the Studentenwerk.
The Studentenwerk assists all new students in finding adequate accommodation, either on or off campus. Private accommodation is available on the Magdeburg accommodation market. However, fully furnished units are in somewhat short supply.

Our school provides a buddy programme (SIMP-SON), a website, and a student advisory service office (ISP Office) exclusively for students enrolled in study programmes conducted in English. A year-round integration programme is part of the mentoring and includes intercultural workshops, weekly counselling hours, English-guided tours and trips, and networking events with fellow students. To participate in the mentoring programme, students need to apply ahead of time to be paired with a student in a more advanced semester. SIMP-SON
