The modules of the degree programme are offered in English and German. When you apply for the Industrial Biotechnology BSc in the application portal, your language skills will be checked, which will determine whether you study only in German (with a C1 certificate or German university entrance qualification), only in English (with a B2 certificate), or will have a free choice to study in either language (both language certificates required).

Description

Industrial biotechnology is a key technology that will be essential to solving global nutritional challenges in the future. In the food industry, biotechnology contributes to the development of speciality products, such as lactose-free foods, to meet the nutritional needs of specific consumer groups. In medicine and pharmacy, it also enables the development and production of innovative vaccines, which are crucial in the fight against infectious diseases and pandemics. Studying biotechnology equips you with the knowledge and skills to develop sustainable and innovative solutions in these dynamic and important areas.

In addition to covering the fundamentals of natural sciences and engineering, the broad-based university degree programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences focuses on bioprocess engineering, cell culture technology, applied microbiology, and molecular biology. Specialisations such as pharmaceutical biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, or bioinformatics are freely available for selection.
