As an alternative to proof of a professionally qualifying degree (Bachelor's degree etc.) with a final grade of at least 2.3, proof of being among the top 40% of graduates in that year can be provided. A grade of less than this can be compensated for with a good degree in the subject of German Studies (grade 2.0 or better).
