The Teaching Qualification for Primary Schools (L1) course prepares students for teaching in primary schools (classes 1-4)\\\; Qualification to teach classes 1-6 is acquired in the teaching subjects. German and Mathematics are compulsory subjects, a third subject is selected. The course has a modular structure (completion of First State Examination). Admission requirements

The admissions requirements for the teacher training degree programmes with the academic degree 'First State Examination' is the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or previous education recognised as equivalent (NOT the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification).

Applicants must pass an aptitude test before being enrolled for the teaching subject of Music (short and long subject). More information on this (registration deadlines, etc.) can be found at www.uni-giessen.de/studium/eignungspruefung
