Annotation

The course of study offers an interdisciplinary degree course that links up with the engineering sciences in the fields of computer science, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering and combines them with overarching interdisciplinary system competencies. Oriented to the basic concept of systems engineering, students acquire technical know-how at the cutting edge of research and application skills for practical astronautics-related projects on concrete technical systems (e.g. satellite systems). Supplemented by management and social skills, the aim is to take the constantly increasing complexity of software-intensive technical systems in the space industry into account.
The degree course is designed as a strategic cooperation with the Gdańsk University of Technology. The study programme concept provides for one theoretical semester to be completed in Gdańsk and one in Bremen and for the credits earned to be credited to the curricula of the respective study programmes at both universities to enable students to obtain two degrees as a ‘double degree’.
