The degree course is offered as a full-time course as well as a part-time course (standard period of study of five semesters). The Master's degree programme in Mathematics aims to train application-oriented mathematicians with in-depth knowledge and skills. This is done on the basis of a first certificate of academic degree in (Applied) Mathematics, in a mathematical-scientific or in a technical subject with extensive mathematical content. With the specialisation in Financial and Insurance Mathematics or Algorithm Engineering, the degree programme is geared towards a mathematical application area.
