Changing family structures, digitalised workplaces, migration trends – our society is shaped by profound social change processes. You want to guide, advise and empower people as they navigate the challenges of their daily lives. In our degree course, you will acquire the expertise needed to support people and help them lead independent lives. The degree course in Social Work (BA) integrates state recognition as a social worker*. During your studies, you will qualify to work as a social worker and social educator. Practical training is part of the degree course. You will receive two academic degrees: Bachelor’s academic degree in Social Work and state recognition as a social worker*.

State recognition as a social worker is the hallmark of quality for social workers in the field. In addition, you will have direct access to the job market and also for further qualification in the Master’s degree in Social Work.

With the graduation as a state-recognised social worker, you automatically qualify to work as a professional caregiver following the reform of caregiving law.

- Study without a general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or admission restrictions through advanced continuing education, a trial course or one year of successful study at a university outside of Baden-Württemberg
