Target group

Bachelor graduates whose degree must include the following skills:

-\tKnowledge of and ability to apply basic concepts and tools of Ancient and/or Mediaeval History
-\tKnowledge of and ability to apply basic concepts and tools of Early and/or Modern History
-\tKnowledge of and ability to apply basic concepts and tools of sectoral-historical topic, such as political history, social history or cultural history
-\tKnowledge of and ability to apply central historical-didactic approaches and their epistemological principles
-\tIn-depth exploration of at least two epochs of history
-\tIn-depth exploration of at least one sectoral topic of historical science.

The examination board determines the equivalence of skills.

Annotation

Durch die epochenübergreifende Ausrichtung unseres Masterstudienfachs vermitteln wir die notwendigen Kompetenzen für Berufsbilder in allen Bereichen historischer Tätigkeit. Im Zentrum des Studiums stehen in diesem Sinne die vertiefende Auseinandersetzung mit Strukturen und Faktoren der Geschichte von der Antike bis in die Neuzeit, die theoretischen Grundlagen historischer Erkenntnis und die verschiedenen Formen der Geschichtskultur. Darüber hinaus gibt es die Möglichkeit, epochale oder thematische Schwerpunkte zu bilden.

Admission requirements

Degree that includes the following skills:

- Knowledge of and ability to apply basic concepts and tools of ancient and medieval history,
- Knowledge of and ability to apply basic concepts and tools of early modern and modern history,
- Knowledge of and ability to apply basic concepts and tools of at least one sectoral historical topic, e.g. political history, social history or cultural history,
- Knowledge of and ability to evaluate central historical didactic approaches as well as their epistemological foundations,
- Exploring at least two historical epochs in depth,
- Exploring at least one sectoral topic of History in depth.
