Target group

The course is aimed at graduates of Applied Social Science, Psychology, Educational Science, Education and Law who wish to qualify in the educational, psychological and legal areas of work with children and young people under significant strain, as well as their families.

The Master's degree qualifies you to start training as a psychotherapist for children and adolescents if a Bachelor's in Education (Educational Science) or Social Education/Social Work has been completed.

Admission requirements

1. Proof of completed academic degree (at minimum 6 semesters of theoretical study/180 ECTS) in Social Work or a related degree course (e.g. Upbringing and Management of Social Innovations) or a related subject area (e.g. Educational Sciences, Pedagogy, Psychology) obtained from a German university with an overall grade of 2.5 or higher, or an equivalent qualification.

Or:

2. Proof of successful completion of the First Staatsexamen in Law (or comparable examination).

3. Proof of either a 22-week work placement as part of university studies or relevant professional experience of at least 22 weeks with no more than two employers following the academic degree or relevant work at the time of commencement of studies.

4. For international applicants: Proof of good command of German (DSH-2 or TestDaF-3).
