Annotation
The Master´s degree programme in Critical Social Work – Social Change, Intersectionality and Diversity (MA) qualifies students for reflective, discrimination-sensitive practice and research in the context of social justice. The focus is on social sustainability, gender equality and the reduction of social inequality – based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The degree course teaches in-depth theoretical, empirical and methodological knowledge in order to critically analyse, question and change social, political and economic structures in a context- and application-oriented manner. Students learn to recognise discrimination on an individual, structural and institutional level and to deal with it professionally. Strategies of political intervention and ethical action are as much a focus as the ability to develop sustainable solutions.
You will acquire practical skills in consulting, communication, education, law enforcement and organisational development – always with diversity and power relations in mind. In addition, the degree course enables independent planning and implementation of research-based projects in the national or international context of social work.
