Develop new production processes. Control intelligent manufacturing processes. Calculate, plan and monitor production. The Production Engineering and Management degree course at Pforzheim University focuses on the most important part of the value chain in Baden-Wuerttemberg: production and manufacturing engineering. Laser technology as well as the forming and stamping technology, which represent an important economic factor for the Northern Black Forest region and are known beyond the region, form a focal point within production and manufacturing engineering. The sub-areas of automation and handling technology complement the portfolio of the bachelor's degree course. The bachelor's degree course in Mechanical/Production Engineering and Management combines classical mechanical engineering with the latest production techniques and management methods. For example, the focus is on the optimisation of manufacturing processes with regard to quality, costs and effectiveness as well as the organisation and management of production.

90% of study places are awarded via the university's internal selection procedure with the following selection criteria: Average grade in the university entrance exam (HZB) - 75 % Result of a selection interview - 25% Participation in the selection interview is entirely voluntary. You can increase your chances of gaining a place, but can never diminish them. A requirement for admission is a pre-study work placement of at least 8 weeks. Proof should be provided for enrolment, but can be submitted up to the beginning of the third subject-related semester.
