Vocational Training and Work-Based Learning is a group of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses in the vocational subject areas of "Agricultural Management", "Nutrition and Home Economics", "Electrical Engineering" or "Metal Engineering" (the latter two in cooperation with Mittelhessen Technical University of Applied Sciences). You choose a vocational subject area as well as a general education teaching subject from the range of subjects for the Teaching Qualification for Grammar Schools. Successful completion of the Master’s degree will enable you to pursue a career as a teacher at vocational schools, as this degree is equivalent to the First State Examination.
Admission requirements
1) For the "Vocational Training and Work-Based Learning" degree courses, a work placement is mandatory. This is typically completed as a continuous block work placement prior to enrolment. The work placement consists of 52 weeks of full-time, relevant, subject-specific practical work. Complete proof must be provided, at the latest, by the time of registration for the Bachelor’s thesis. Relevant completed vocational training is recognised.
2) For the teaching subjects English, French, Spanish, Catholic Religion, Protestant Religion and History, certain language proficiency must be demonstrated prior to enrolment (and sometimes also at certain points during the programme).
