Target group

The course is aimed at people with a first academic degree who already have experience of working with children and young people. These are for example: Teachers, (social) educators, (school) psychologists, (learning) therapists, freelancers/working for a range of institutions, other academically qualified and interested candidates

Annotation

•\tThe degree course is a continuing education course and is completed part-time within 3 years or 6 semesters.
•\tThe degree course comprises 60 days of attendance (30 weekends, each Friday noon to Saturday evening) plus time for self-study, transfer modules, module examinations and the final Master's thesis.
•\tIn the degree course 120 ECTS are obtained.
•\tThis degree course is offered by the Center for Knowledge Transfer of the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd (ZWPH) in cooperation with the Center for School and Psychosocial Rehabilitation of the DRK Clinics Berlin (ZSPR) at the study locations Schwäbisch Gmünd and Berlin.

Admission requirements

They already have a first academic degree such as a Bachelor's degree or a Diplom. Furthermore, they have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in the field of education with children, for example as a teacher, a child care worker or an educational therapist.

If you do not have a first academic degree, you may, under certain circumstances, be granted admission to the course in an admissions procedure.

More information regarding tuition fees

The tuition fees are € 1,750 per semester. The tuition fees for the entire course are € 10,500. No extra fees will be charged of the study period is extended. With the registration of the master's thesis at the Examination Office, a one-off fee of EUR 750 will be charged.
