The degree consists of alternating theoretical studies at the university and practical training phases, each lasting a total of 18 months. Students learn about professional practice at their employers who hired them as employees before they began their studies.

Admission requirements

Training within the administration. No application directly at the higher education institution. Applications have to be addressed to the responsible hiring authorities. Studies start once a year as of 1.09. The application period ends on 8.10 of the preceding year.
In the so-called 'Vorbereitungsdienst' (traineeship) only those who fulfil the legal requirements for the appointment can be recruited to the civil service.
