During their studies, students are civil servants with a revocable appointment and receive candidate salaries from their recruitment authority in accordance with the civil service regulations. Upon successful completion, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences awards the Bachelor of Arts (BA). In addition, students acquire the Lower Saxon career qualification for career group 2, the first entry-level office in the field of general services (formerly upper grade of the civil service). The acquisition of this career qualification opens up a career as a civil servant.
