In smartphones, navigation systems and satellite-based applications - we encounter microelectronics everywhere. Modern microelectronic systems are based on the interaction of hardware and software - this interface is the field of work of computer engineering. The engineers working in this field understand these modern technical systems and drive new developments. During your degree course, you will learn the fundamentals of mathematics, physics and electrical engineering and receive a sound education in the subjects of computer science and digital technology, as a comprehensive knowledge of software and hardware is essential for the development of modern computer systems. Extensive knowledge of microcontrollers and electronics round off the course. Since today's technical systems are characterised by a high degree of complexity, we place emphasis on interdisciplinary knowledge and project work.
Admission requirements
90% of study places are awarded via the university’s internal selection procedure with the following selection criteria: Average grade in the university entrance exam (HZB) - 75% Result of a selection interview – 25% Participation in the selection interview is entirely voluntary. You can increase your chances of gaining a place, but can never diminish them.
