Description
Whether news, social media updates or YouTube videos, media accompany us constantly and almost everywhere in our everyday lives. Not only traditional media companies, but also public service organisations, industrial companies, and NGOs depend on experts in communication to present them in the media in a way that is effective for advertising.
In the Applied Media and Communication Studies programme, you will be trained as a communications professional. The university course will provide you with theoretical and methodological knowledge and enable you to understand communication in its entirety. You will develop strategic and analytical thinking and a high level of problem-solving skills. You learn to communicate effectively and purposefully. In media projects you apply your knowledge in practice, write press releases, organise events or develop PR strategies.
The technical and economic part of the course also gives you a basic understanding of how a company operates and enables you to understand the basic features of technical products and services and to market them in a targeted manner. In the competitive job market of communication professions, this interface competence will give you a real competitive advantage.
As a graduate in applied media and communication science, a wide range of career prospects are open to you: You work in a media company, are responsible for the internal and external communication of a company, sell products in online marketing, manage social media channels or implement advertising campaigns for customers.
